The average latency for RF-based wireless video transmission is 30.8ms. But the human eye can detect a delay as low as 13ms. That’s why we designed Ranger: the only wireless video solution to achieve true zero-delay (<1ms) with visually lossless picture quality. And now with 6GHz support (U-NII 5), you gain access to 12 newly-opened RF channels – allowing you to operate without interference.

With the number of wireless devices on the rise, and a limited amount of frequency bands to choose from, there is little room for your signal to move without interference or disruption. But with Ranger, you have options: 5 GHz for general use, licensed band frequencies for special events, and the new 6 GHz U-NII-5 band for 12 new channels of uncongested wireless spectrum.

Seriously, No Delay

Seriously, No Delay

When a delay in audio and video transmission is noticeable, it’s nearly
impossible to give your fans a lifelike experience. Ranger’s patented zero-
delay technology solves this problem. With Ranger, your audio and video
signals are transmitted with ultra-low latency – even in 4K60 – providing a
visually lossless and engaging experience for your viewers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Sending wireless video from a roving camera back to master control where it is added to the production workflow.
The video is transmitted by radio frequency in the 4.9-6.4 GHz frequency range.
Three things. Its superior video quality to HEVC or AVC systems. Joint Source Channel Coding (JSCC). And its proprietary RF video codec.
It’s a visually lossless video codec – meaning the image looks identical to the naked eye. Ranger has the lowest glass-to-glass delay on the market. And it gives you access to licensed bands at a fraction of the cost.
Horizontal and vertical wave propagation sends the same frequencies in two different planar directions that are 90° rotated along the transmission axis.
Like the Bolt series, all Ranger models are compatible with one another.
Bolt is built for Cinema applications, with unique features including 3D LUTs and  integration with SmallHD cinema monitors. Ranger offers features for live production, broadcast, churches, schools, and enterprise workflows. Live Production customers require dedicated control and functionality over frequency selection, monitoring and range prioritization to maximize utilization from venue to venue. Ranger expands Bolt 6’s functionality further by offering licensed frequencies for professional coordinated productions like NASCAR, The Olympic Games, and NFL.
Ranger uses a proprietary JSCC (Joint source channel coding) method to encode the video into two bit streams: a “coarse” stream carrying the majority of timing data and a “fine” stream that contains the detailed data. This enables Ranger to encode in a visually lossless bitstream using 20 or 40 MHz bandwidth modulation. This method does not use HEVC or AVC compression and is far superior when visual quality is required.
